Firmus has signed a multi-year agreement to provide OpenAI with dedicated computing capacity from two Malaysian data center sites, making the AI company an anchor customer and lifting Firmus's contracted capacity across all customers above 900 megawatts. The Australian infrastructure company is entering Malaysia, its fourth country after Australia, Singapore and Indonesia, and will deploy Nvidia Vera Rubin processors through Nvidia's DSX AI Factory Platform integrated with its HyperCube infrastructure system. Firmus says HyperCube packages liquid cooling, mechanical systems and electrification into prefabricated units manufactured in regional New South Wales. It operates two AI data centers in Australia and Singapore and is developing five more, with service targeted within 24 months. Financial terms were not disclosed. Firmus, valued at more than $10.5 billion in its latest fundraising round, is backed by Nvidia, Jane Street, Blackstone funds and Coatue Management. It also plans an Australian AI Access Program for researchers and organizations.
