Anthropic has abandoned talks to acquire AI startup Decart after due diligence on a proposed transaction valued at as much as $6 billion, or about ¥920 billion. The deal would have been Anthropic's largest acquisition and could have added Decart's real-time generative-video, interactive world-model and AI-optimization technology to support Claude amid rising demand for computing capacity. The companies could still collaborate on future projects. Decart raised $300 million in May, lifting its total funding above $450 million and its valuation to nearly $4 billion, according to the Wall Street Journal. Anthropic has instead continued to build AI infrastructure, including a $35 billion cloud agreement with Lambda, while making six smaller acquisitions. It is also reportedly preparing for an IPO, with supporters forecasting annual revenue of $100 billion to $120 billion by the end of 2026 and Connor Group founding executive Jim Neesen predicting strong demand at a potential October offering.
