Mastern Investment Management, a South Korean real estate-focused asset manager, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Seoul Investment Promotion Foundation on September 7, 2026, creating a formal channel between global capital and Seoul’s real estate market. Announced on the 8th, the agreement is the first between a domestic real estate-specialized asset management company and the foundation, which was established by the Seoul Metropolitan Government to attract foreign investment and support foreign-invested companies settling in Seoul. The partnership will identify global companies seeking to invest in Seoul, connect them with major development projects and match companies attracted by the foundation with assets owned or developed by Mastern Investment Management. The two sides also plan partnerships including speaker participation in real estate investor events. The foundation is targeting new FDI (foreign direct investment) in the 1 trillion won range, or approximately $745.1 million, by attracting global anchor companies in industries including AI and biotech. Mastern Investment Management has approximately 38 trillion won, or $28.3 billion, in AUM (assets under management), while South Korea’s commercial real estate transactions reached a record 33.8 trillion won last year and FDI reached an all-time high of $36.05 billion on a notification basis.
