ASML has secured substantial commitments from leading semiconductor manufacturers, highlighted by SK Hynix's roughly $8 billion order for EUV lithography (extreme ultraviolet chip patterning) tools in March 2026. The order is the largest single disclosed mass-production equipment purchase in ASML's history and covers high-bandwidth memory and advanced DRAM production through 2027. ASML is the only company that makes EUV machines, which are central to producing advanced chips. Its High-NA EUV systems offer still finer resolution; Intel has begun using them for specific advanced nodes, while SK Hynix and Samsung are deploying them and TSMC is delaying broader adoption. Imec bought a High-NA EUV system for $400 million in March 2026, and fewer than a dozen such machines exist globally. ASML raised its fiscal 2026 revenue guidance to €43 billion-€45 billion as of July 2026, while its order backlog stood at €38.8 billion at the end of 2025. The company plans to increase annual production capacity for EUV and deep ultraviolet tools by 30% in both 2027 and 2028, supporting demand across its optical, precision-mechanics and specialized-materials supply chain.
