CHFD, a digital asset designed to maintain a one-to-one peg with the Swiss franc, entered partner use-case testing on Sept. 8 after SIX and TWINT joined the controlled Swiss sandbox. UBS, PostFinance, Sygnum, Raiffeisen, Zürcher Kantonalbank, BCV, SIX, TWINT and Swiss Stablecoin AG are examining how blockchain-based money could connect with financial-market infrastructure and digital payments. CHFD has been technically live in the sandbox since the end of June, while the latest phase focuses on automated institutional transfers, tokenized-asset settlement and programmable payments for online marketplaces, ticketing and public payments. Participation is restricted and subject to transaction limits. The trial is planned through the end of 2026 and has an open outcome, with no decision on commercial issuance, customer availability, transaction volumes or a production timetable. The partners plan to publish an overview after testing concludes to identify potential uses for a Swiss-franc stablecoin and obstacles to any future development.
