Ethereum core developers have scheduled EIP-8141, known as Frame Transactions, for inclusion in the Hegotá upgrade planned for 2027. The proposal would let users transact without holding ETH by separating authorization, fee payment and execution, allowing an application or another account to sponsor the network fee. Users could reimburse sponsors in stablecoins, but Ethereum would continue charging and paying validators in ETH. Frames could also bundle operations, reverse related approvals when transactions fail and support changes to account validation rules, including key rotation and alternative signature schemes. The specification remains a draft and is not available on Ethereum mainnet. ETH was trading at $2,480, down 0.9% over 24 hours but up 0.3% over the week, while daily trading volume was $10.8 million.
