Autoliv is advancing its Human Body Model (HBM) Safety Suite, a virtual testing platform designed to help automakers assess crash performance, occupant responses and potential injury mechanisms alongside physical testing. Toyota is the first customer to begin evaluating the system, which combines a detailed digital representation of human anatomy with software for analysis, visualization and decision-making. Autoliv plans broader industry availability in 2026 as regulations and consumer-rating programs increasingly incorporate virtual methods. The company says the platform can provide earlier development insights, support protection for a more diverse range of occupants, reduce lead times and improve cost efficiency.
