Bitcoin’s long-term holder supply ratio rose sharply during a correction after the cryptocurrency broke above $80,000, CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost said on Sept. 8, according to BlockBeats. Coins bought during the pullback were not quickly resold and instead remained held long enough to pass the six-month threshold, reducing liquid supply and potentially helping establish support as a market bottom develops gradually. On Sept. 9, BlockBeats reported that Liquid Capital founder Yi Lihua remained bullish, describing Bitcoin’s roughly 19-day adjustment, which began Aug. 22 after a five-day advance from Aug. 17, as a normal correction within a broader uptrend. Bitcoin fluctuated between $76,300 and $82,300, with resistance near $82,300. Yi advised against shorting during an uptrend and highlighted localized bullish activity in Robinhood’s on-chain market, ZEC-linked market-maker tokens and trading tokens, saying the signals resembled the eve of the aggressive 2020 bull market. Darkfost nevertheless cautioned that rising long-term-holder supply would not immediately reverse market conditions.
