Starknet has announced Shieldnet privacy protection for 45 ERC-20 assets through its STRK20 framework. The system uses client-side zero-knowledge proofs to convert tokens into encrypted notes, concealing senders, recipients and transfer amounts while allowing users to selectively disclose information to regulators or auditors. Integrations with AVNU and Ekubo extend shielded transactions to swaps and liquidity provision, while Xverse and Ready X support the framework. The rollout began with a March 2026 announcement, followed by the SHINOBI/v0.14.2 upgrade on April 21, strkBTC's launch on May 12, USDC's addition in June and completion of the 45-asset implementation by June 9. The privacy pool has processed more than 14,000 deposits and reached approximately $350,000 in total value locked shortly after launch. Starknet's official account announced the 45-asset milestone, while a related market update listed Starknet at $0 with no reported trading volume over the previous 24 hours. The update also referred to a Private Sprint involving nearly 150 projects using STRK20 and ongoing invitations for developers to participate. The initiative was presented as a potential way to strengthen security, compliance and institutional appeal as the wider crypto market shows mixed momentum.
