Uzbekistan has placed its HUMO soum-referenced stablecoin into a supervised payment pilot under a special regulatory regime overseen by the National Agency of Perspective Projects and the Central Bank of Uzbekistan. HUMO Digital LLC, rather than the central bank, is listed in NAPP's registry as the token's issuer and entered the regime with Central Bank approval on 2 September 2026. HUMO's whitepaper states that issuance and redemption are set at one HUMO for one Uzbek soum and that the token is fully backed by Uzbekistan government bonds recorded at the Central Securities Depository and blocked by the Central Bank. The filing is a description of the intended collateral structure, however, not an independent reserve attestation: no current collateral valuation or circulating-supply figure has been disclosed. HUMO holders have redemption claims against the private issuer, receive no interest, and face the possibility that secondary-market prices diverge from the stated peg. More than 20 businesses are ready to participate as merchants, while the planned implementation period extends for up to three years. The Central Bank previously described an initial 12-month trial. Available materials do not yet establish live payment usage, transaction volumes, consumer eligibility, fees, limits or settlement arrangements. Asterium JSC is a project partner and the technology developer for Mirasmanda, the EVM-compatible network identified for issuing, transferring and redeeming HUMO.
