Tom Lee, co-founder of Fundstrat and president and chairman of Bitmine Immersion Technologies, said Ethereum could outperform Bitcoin over the next several years as asset tokenization and agentic AI mature. Bitmine said on Sept. 9, 2026, that it held 5,929,198 ETH valued at $2,495 per token, representing 4.9% of the approximately 122.0 million ETH supply, after acquiring 28,086 ETH during the previous week. Its crypto, cash, marketable securities and moonshot investments totaled $15.7 billion as of Sept. 7 at 2 p.m. Eastern time. Lee described Ethereum as infrastructure for institutional finance, citing its role in settling tokenized assets and enabling autonomous systems to move money. He also pointed to a planned mid-September vote on the CLARITY Act, renewed Korean and broader Asian investor participation, a possible shift from artificial-intelligence stocks, returning sidelined capital and performance-driven institutional buying as potential catalysts. Bitmine said 5,067,309 ETH, worth $12.6 billion, was staked through MAVAN and partners, with projected annualized staking revenue of $330 million currently and $386 million at scale based on a 2.61% seven-day yield. Ether had traded at $2,471.92, down 1.39%, while the ETH/BTC ratio stood at 0.02994, below its approximately 0.08 peak in 2021. Lee's scenario called for Ether to reach $6,000 if Bitcoin reached $150,000 and the ratio rose to 0.04.
