Advanced Micro Devices raised its estimate for the 2030 total addressable market for AI-related products and services to as much as $3 trillion from a previous $2 trillion forecast, marking a further increase from the $1 trillion estimate previously cited by management. CFO Jean Hu made the comments at Citi’s Global TMT Conference, describing the current AI spending cycle as still being in its early stages. AMD also raised its 2030 server CPU market estimate to about $220 billion, from earlier projections of roughly $60 billion and later more than $120 billion. Shares gained between 5% and 7% during the session, with one report showing a 5.90% increase to about $505.74. AMD’s Data Center revenue reached $6.718 billion in the second quarter of 2026, up 107% from $3.24 billion a year earlier, supported by EPYC server processors and Instinct AI accelerators. The company does not break out revenue for individual Instinct product families, including MI300, MI350, MI400 and MI450. Independent estimates for 2030 AI infrastructure spending of about $1.2 trillion to $1.7 trillion remain below AMD’s market forecast, while the $3 trillion figure represents a potential market size rather than AMD’s expected revenue. The latest comments did not include new revenue guidance or a revised earnings outlook. Investors will watch Data Center growth, server CPU sales, Instinct demand and the planned MI450 and Helios shipment ramps to assess whether business performance supports AMD’s long-term assumptions.
