Sapien has closed a funding round led by Neo’s Ali Partovi at a $180 million valuation, less than two years after its $8.7 million seed round led by General Catalyst. Founded in October 2024, the San Francisco startup is expanding beyond financial planning and analysis (FP&A) with AI agents that connect to enterprise resource planning systems, data warehouses and customer relationship management platforms. In a Carlex profitability analysis, Sapien found that factors credited with $10 million in positive EBITDA were instead producing a $2 million drag, a $12 million misattribution that could have affected capital allocation. The work took about 20 minutes, versus an estimated two weeks using conventional analysis, and also identified a separate $1.5 million customer-channel opportunity. Sapien says its platform provides more than 800% increased reporting granularity. Its customers include Bayer, Carlex, Cooper Standard, Blink Charging and Westgate Resorts, while the roughly 20-person company positions deeper enterprise analysis as an alternative to broader platform offerings from Microsoft, Salesforce and SAP.
