BitMine Immersion Technologies acquired 28,086 ETH during the week before Sept. 7, lifting its Ether treasury to 5,929,198 tokens, or 4.9% of the company’s cited 122 million ETH supply. The company valued its combined crypto, cash, marketable securities and strategic investments at $15.7 billion, while its Ether holdings remained below their purchase cost. CryptoQuant estimated the unrealized loss at roughly $5 billion. Ether rose 29.7% over the past month, narrowing the shortfall, and chairman Tom Lee said ETH was the best-performing macro asset during the quarter through last Friday, ahead of the S&P 500 by 5,430 basis points. Lee said the outperformance of Ether, Bitcoin and Solana since June 30 could prompt institutions to increase crypto exposure. BitMine said 5,067,309 ETH, about 85% of its Ether holdings, was staked through MAVAN and external partners. The company projected $330 million in annualized staking revenue at a 2.61% yield, rising to about $386 million if its full Ether balance were staked at the same rate.
