Allstate has introduced the Property Lab at Allstate Claims University, a full-scale residential training facility inside the company’s 33,000-square-foot claims training center in Dallas, Texas. The center opened in August 2026, and the Property Lab is one of two hands-on training environments there. Built using insights from more than 100 million property claims, it contains two complete, two-story homes with basements that recreate common damage scenarios, including burst pipes, roof and skylight leaks, hail damage, fire and smoke damage, and lightning-related equipment failures. Claim adjusters can inspect visible and hidden damage, use cutaway wall sections to track how problems spread through framing, insulation and plumbing, and work with digital tools and industry-standard modules covering roofing, water damage, cabinetry, plumbing, electrical systems and sump pumps. The training is designed to improve damage assessments and help adjusters explain repair needs, coverage considerations and next steps to homeowners. Mike Fiato, executive vice president and chief claims officer at Allstate, said the facility is intended to help teams provide informed guidance during stressful homeowner situations. Allstate said the Property Lab forms part of its broader investment in claims personnel and supports the repair and recovery process for customers.
