AI healthcare platform Forus raised $150 million in a Series C funding round led by Bain Capital Ventures, valuing the company at $3 billion and tripling its valuation in about four months. Existing investors including Thrive Capital, General Catalyst and Accel also participated. Forus uses AI agents (software that automates multi-step tasks) to help doctors and patients manage the process between a prescription and treatment, including insurance approvals, financial assistance and medicine supply. The company plans to use the proceeds to expand across medical specialties and care settings, broaden its technology and invest in its workforce. The New York-based startup said providers use its platform across all 50 U.S. states, while it serves patients in 85% of residential ZIP codes and works with nine of the world's 15 largest biopharmaceutical companies. Formerly known as Tandem, Forus raised $160 million in May, bringing its total funding to more than $300 million.
