Malone Lam, a 22-year-old Singaporean citizen, pleaded guilty to one Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations conspiracy count involving more than $245 million in cryptocurrency. Prosecutors described Lam as the ringleader of an international cybercrime enterprise that operated from October 2023 through at least May 2025, identifying targets and coordinating conspirators across California, Connecticut, New York, Florida and abroad. The group used social engineering, account intrusions and occasional home break-ins to obtain information used to drain victims' wallets. The case began with the theft of more than 4,100 Bitcoin from a Washington, D.C., victim and later expanded into a broader investigation alleging more than $263 million in thefts. Prosecutors said proceeds funded luxury homes, private security, chartered jets, exotic cars and nightclub bills reaching $500,000 in one evening. US Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro said the plea demonstrated that international cybercrime networks could be dismantled and their leaders held accountable. Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly accepted the plea and scheduled a status hearing for December 8, 2026.
