Intel shares rose 9.05% to close at $104.47 on Tuesday after the company completed a $20 billion underwritten equity offering at $95 per share, expanded from an initially planned $15 billion. Approximately 140 million shares changed hands, more than twice the typical daily volume. Nvidia disclosed an Intel position worth about $30 billion, while SK Hynix was reported to be assessing Intel Foundry for potential HBM4E memory-chip production. DigiTimes also reported that Intel could raise CPU prices by as much as 10% later this year, potentially in October, following increases in the first quarter and July. Northland Securities upgraded Intel to Outperform with a $120 price target, citing progress in the company's restructuring and foundry strategy, while UBS raised its rating to Buy. Intel reported second-quarter revenue of $16.13 billion and earnings per share of $0.42, above the $0.21 consensus estimate. Intel and ASML said Intel Foundry has processed more than 1 million wafers using High-NA EUV equipment for 18A and forthcoming Panther Lake processors. The company continues to pursue external foundry demand, including its previously reported 14A technology arrangement with Elon Musk's Terafab project, while investors weigh its capital requirements, dilution from the equity offering and the foundry unit's losses.
