Costco is scheduled to open 14 additional warehouses in October and November, including five U.S. locations in October and five U.S. locations plus four Canadian locations in November. The expansion follows openings earlier this year in Arizona, California, Florida, Minnesota, New York, Texas, Utah and Wisconsin, as well as Mexico and Taiwan. CEO Ron Vachris said in March that Costco aims to open at least 30 warehouses annually over the next five to 10 years, with roughly half in the U.S. and the rest internationally. The company is also pursuing projects in other U.S. communities, while its upcoming stores will bring Kirkland products, a new food-court item, another option for the $1.50 hot dog combo and generally lower-priced fuel.
