Sunrise, Wormhole Labs’ asset gateway, has officially listed peaq’s native PEAQ token on Solana with canonical status, coinciding with the launch of peaq’s Economics 2.0 on September 7, 2026. The model requires machines activated through peaqOS to bond PEAQ for their active lifetimes, with activation costs denominated in U.S. dollars but settled in PEAQ. Half of the bonded tokens are burned when a machine exits the network. About 3.3 million machines across more than 60 DePIN projects are now set to bond PEAQ, while peaq has targeted 1 million machine activations during the first week. Sunrise’s Solana integration puts PEAQ into infrastructure including Phantom and Jupiter and is designed to provide liquidity and distribution for the token. The broader Economics 2.0 framework also allocates newly issued PEAQ and network transaction fees among validators, the Machine Pool, the Treasury and an activation-token pool. The update cited current price data showing no trading volume, leaving the immediate market reaction unclear as traders assess whether the Solana launch can increase engagement.
