Rosen Law Firm reminded Avis Budget Group Inc. investors of a pending securities class action and a Sept. 29, 2026 deadline to seek appointment as lead plaintiff. The proposed class covers purchasers of Avis securities, including those who bought common stock to cover short positions, from Feb. 20, 2025 through April 21, 2026. The complaint alleges that Avis and certain executives withheld material information and that Pentwater Capital Management LP and Matthew Halbower manipulated the market for Avis securities. Pentwater allegedly held an approximately 51% total economic interest in Avis through stock and cash-settled swaps as of March 2026, and its aggressive purchases allegedly contributed to a short squeeze. Avis shares climbed from an April 1 opening price of $147.52 to an intraday high of $765.94 on April 21 before falling 74.51% to close at $182.005 on April 28. No class has been certified, and investors do not need to serve as lead plaintiff to participate in a potential recovery.
