Nadeem Meghji is stepping down as Blackstone’s global head of real estate, less than a year after taking sole charge of the business. David Levine, formerly head of Blackstone’s Americas real estate group, and Giovanni Cutaia, president of the real estate business, will succeed him as co-heads. Meghji joined Blackstone in 2008 and became global co-head in 2024 alongside Kathleen McCarthy, who left in 2025 after 15 years. He is leaving to spend more time with his family, the Wall Street Journal reported. The departure comes as roughly 12 senior managing directors have left Blackstone’s real estate group over the past three years. The group has 45 senior managing directors, with an average tenure of 14 years, while Blackstone’s real estate portfolio exceeds $600 billion. Under Meghji, the firm expanded its data center strategy into a portfolio worth $185 billion as of July 2026.
