Intellia Therapeutics’ hereditary angioedema treatment Lonvo-Z has received Priority Review from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which accepted the company’s Biologics License Application. The FDA set a Prescription Drug User Fee Act target action date of March 10, 2027, and said it does not currently plan to convene an advisory committee. Wedbush raised its price target for Intellia to $13, above the company’s current share price of $12.64. Priority Review accelerates evaluation of treatments offering significant improvements for serious conditions but does not guarantee approval. Lonvo-Z uses CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing directly inside liver cells, targeting KLKB1, a gene involved in the pathway that produces kallikrein and bradykinin, which drives swelling in HAE. In the Phase 3 HAELO study, a single 50 mg intravenous dose reduced mean monthly attacks by 87% versus placebo from week 5 through week 28. If approved, Lonvo-Z would be the first in vivo CRISPR-based therapy and the only single-dose treatment for HAE, although the durability and long-term safety of one-time gene editing remain unresolved. The announcement followed ARK Invest’s purchase of approximately $2.5 million in Intellia shares, while the stock was up more than 35% year-to-date.
