Dogecoin (DOGE) gained access to Solana applications through Sunrise, a cross-chain liquidity gateway associated with Wormhole infrastructure, on September 7. The protocol standardizes assets from other blockchains on Solana through a unified mint, allowing DOGE users to access decentralized finance (DeFi), or blockchain-based financial services, on platforms including Raydium, Jupiter and Kamino without manually completing a multi-step bridge. Sunrise recorded more than $10 million in Solana trading volume within three hours and $19 million over 24 hours, although DOGE fell modestly to $0.08915 at press time despite a 27.2% monthly gain. The integration also drew a custody warning from Dogecoin developer Mishaboar, who said bridged DOGE is not native Dogecoin: the original coins remain on the Dogecoin blockchain under a multi-signature arrangement controlled by third-party signers, while a corresponding Solana token is issued. He urged Sunrise and Wormhole to disclose their custody arrangements and publish proof-of-reserves. Separately, traders are watching DOGE for a possible technical breakout above its 200-day moving averages and major horizontal resistance, with a confirmed move potentially targeting $0.10 and signaling broader altcoin liquidity. Greater access and initial volume do not guarantee a higher DOGE price, and sustained liquidity, transparent backing and trading activity remain important.
