Apple unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, at a September 9 event in Cupertino. The Pro models will be available for preorder on the 12th and go on sale on the 18th, with U.S. prices starting at $1,199 and $1,299, respectively, $100 above the prior generation. In South Korea, the 256GB iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max cost 1.99 million won and 2.19 million won, each 200,000 won more than comparable iPhone 17 Pro models. The phones use Apple's 2-nanometer A20 Pro chip, add a variable-aperture 48-megapixel main camera and introduce Apple Reference Image photo authentication. The iPhone Duo starts at $1,999 in the United States and ranges from 3.29 million won to 5.09 million won in South Korea. Apple also raised U.S. prices for several older iPhone models and discontinued the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, as rising memory and storage costs reshape smartphone pricing.
