LD Capital founder Jack Yi said cryptocurrency market conditions increasingly resemble the period before the strong bull run of 2020, arguing that Bitcoin remains in an uptrend despite a roughly 19-day correction. He said Bitcoin rose for five consecutive days during an advance that began on August 17, before entering the correction around August 22, with the pullback spanning approximately $6,000. Yi said bull markets are not uninterrupted advances, advised against short positions during uptrends and urged investors to monitor daily-chart corrections and volatility. He also said bull-market signals were appearing regionally in some altcoins and tokens. Separately, Bankless co-founder David Hoffman sold his entire ETH position on May 21 and bought VVV, NEAR, ZEC, HYPE and LIT. The selected assets subsequently outperformed ETH, with LIT rising 288%, ZEC 121%, HYPE and VVV 55% each, and NEAR 33%, compared with an approximately 17% gain for ETH. Hoffman disclosed approximate entry prices of $1.40 for NEAR, $45 for HYPE, $560 for ZEC and $1.35 for LIT; no entry price for VVV was provided.
