The average NFL team is now valued at $10.36 billion, up 35% from a year ago, with the increase driven largely by the Khosla family's $9.61 billion purchase of the Seattle Seahawks from the Paul G. Allen estate. Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan told CNBC that private equity, expanding media deals and community building will continue to support higher league valuations. The deal, which closed Sept. 3, was 59% above the Washington Commanders' sale price three years earlier and gave the Seahawks an enterprise value-to-revenue ratio above 14 based on $677 million in team revenue. It also involved more than $8 billion of equity, the largest one-time equity investment in a sports team, according to people familiar with the private transaction. CNBC's Official NFL Team Valuations 2026 puts five teams above $12 billion, led by the Dallas Cowboys at $16 billion. The league is also expanding internationally, with a record nine games outside the U.S. this season and 10 scheduled for 2027. Average league revenue is $723 million per team and average EBITDA is $133 million, while shared national revenue is expected to reach about $480 million per team this season, up 6% from 2025. New or renovated stadiums across roughly one-third of franchises could further increase revenue from premium seating, sponsorships, hospitality and non-NFL events.
