Uber has invested $10 million in Indian fleet management startup Carrum Mobility in a Series B round, valuing the company at ₹16 billion, or about $168 million, after the investment. The funding follows Uber’s $7 million investment in January, which valued Carrum at ₹6 billion, or around $63 million. Founder and CEO Karan Jain said Uber now holds a stake in the mid-teens. Carrum owns about 5,100 vehicles across Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi and Kolkata, and has onboarded more than 18,000 drivers. It supplies vehicles for Uber Go, Premier and Black in India, with SUVs concentrated in the premium Black service, which operates exclusively through fleet partners. Carrum reported annualized revenue of about ₹4.3 billion, while revenue for the year ended March 2026 reached about ₹2.33 billion and net profit rose to about ₹70 million. The company plans to expand its fleet to about 11,000 vehicles over the next 12 months, enter more cities, upgrade its technology platform and hire additional staff. Jain said Carrum ultimately aims to become a global fleet partner for Uber, although he declined to say whether the companies have discussed expanding beyond India.
