Dell Technologies shares rose 4.3% to $556.85 on Wednesday morning, reaching a 52-week high of $558.50, as investors awaited CEO Michael Dell’s appearance at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference at 12:25 PM PDT. The presentation follows exceptional second-quarter fiscal 2027 results announced September 1, including $47.0 billion in revenue, up 58% from a year earlier, $16.4 billion in AI-specific revenue and $60.9 billion in AI-related orders during the three-month period. Dell is managing a $95 billion AI order backlog and raised its full-year outlook to 69% revenue growth and a 148% increase in adjusted earnings per share to $25.50. Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and Citigroup raised their price targets after the results. Evercore subsequently increased its target to $650 from $575 while retaining Dell among its preferred investment ideas. Analyst Amit Daryanani cited neocloud infrastructure deployments, early enterprise AI adoption, supply-chain efficiencies and capital management as potential drivers of further gains. He said fiscal 2027 earnings consensus near $25.88 appeared conservative, with upside above $30 in an optimistic case, while fiscal 2028 earnings could exceed $40 versus Wall Street’s $31 estimate. Applying a 25-times earnings multiple to that projection could support a share price approaching $1,000. Silver Lake Partners IV sold about $38.2 million of Dell Class C Common Stock on September 3, 2026, while combined Silver Lake entities sold more than $160 million as the shares neared their 52-week highs. Dell nonetheless outperformed the broader market, with the S&P 500 down 0.3%, the Dow Jones down 0.6% and the Nasdaq down 0.4%. The stock trades at about 19 times forward earnings, and additional buy ratings published September 8 and 9 have maintained institutional interest ahead of the conference presentation.
