Ripple Chief Technology Officer Emeritus David Schwartz said XRP could eventually surpass Bitcoin by market capitalization if the XRP Ledger captures a disproportionate share of growth in a much larger digital-asset market. He said the scenario would involve XRP expanding faster rather than Bitcoin shrinking, citing the ledger's speed, functionality and ability to support features Bitcoin cannot. Bitcoin's market capitalization was about $1.58 trillion versus XRP's roughly $88.9 billion, leaving Bitcoin 17.7 times larger and requiring XRP to reach about $25.10 with 62.74 billion tokens circulating to match Bitcoin's current valuation. Spot XRP ETFs recorded combined inflows of $13.84 million on Sept. 8 and 9, while Bitcoin spot ETFs saw $166.89 million of outflows over the same period. Analyst EGRAG Crypto's updated Elliott Wave count identified XRP targets of $14, $27 and $48. XRP's potential to overtake Bitcoin remains a long-shot scenario rather than a forecast. Separately, earlier reporting documented more than $1.7 billion in cumulative XRP ETF inflows, RLUSD's expansion and the resolution of an XRP Ledger Permission Delegation vulnerability without reported losses.
