ChatGPT Voice can now invoke GPT-5.6 Sol and GPT-6 Astra, allowing users to select a model and reasoning intensity. Pro users can choose the models, and voice mode routes requests requiring search or reasoning to the selected model. The feature runs on GPT-Live, and responses generated through an underlying text model count toward that model’s message quota. OpenAI also increased GPT-Live-1 daily limits to 3 hours for Plus users, 15 hours for $100 Pro users and 15 hours for Business Premium users; $200 Pro users retain unlimited access. Atty Eleti said selecting GPT-5.6 Extra High or GPT-6 Pro can result in slower responses while providing stronger reasoning capabilities.
