The LAPTOP Foundation is expanding its token-management measures after the project’s initial liquidity pool launched at $0.05 per token and experienced a rapid rise and retreat. The foundation attributed the volatility to strong demand, sniping bots and insufficient initial market-maker liquidity. Starting at 00:00 UTC on September 10, it plans to allocate 4 million LAPTOP, equal to 0.4% of total supply, to incentivize Aerodrome liquidity. Two events in the Predictions allocation will settle as "YES," with 10 million related LAPTOP tokens, or 1% of total supply, set to be burned. The founding team’s 30% allocation will be locked for six months and gradually unlocked over two years under Coinbase Custody, while 30% of the Predictions allocation will be locked for 12 months. Separately, 80 million LAPTOP tokens are available to people who joined Hunter Substack by September 6; unclaimed tokens will be burned after the 30-day claim period. Hunter Biden said the foundation’s suspended X account is being restored and that updates will continue through Medium. The foundation said it will not leave the LAPTOP project and cautioned users not to expect the team or anyone else to increase the token’s value, describing LAPTOP as an expression of a particular stance.
