South African manufacturing production rose 1.1% year-on-year in July 2026, ending three consecutive monthly declines and outperforming expectations for a 1.6% contraction. Food and beverages output increased 4.1%, while petroleum, chemical products, rubber and plastics production rose 3.2%. Seasonally adjusted monthly manufacturing output advanced 2.2%, its fastest pace since May 2025, and production was 1.0% higher in the three months through July than in the preceding three months. Elsewhere, Greece's industrial output fell 1.2% annually as utility supply and mining declined, while manufacturing production increased in the Netherlands, Slovenia and Malta.
