Flop Labs has released the v0.5.0 draft yellow paper for its FLOP protocol, opening the document to community technical review. The specification describes an inference metering and settlement layer built on a Substrate/FRAME runtime, using BABE for block production and AlephBFT for finality. Flop Labs says some security and performance conclusions are protocol requirements, conditional mathematical results or empirical tests, while others lack publicly reproducible evidence. The project has published unresolved issues, implementation status, evidence records and reproducible data, and is seeking review of its verification system, FLOP metering, miner and validator economics, dispute handling and data availability. It plans to launch a testnet in the fourth quarter of 2026, link a token airdrop to test participation and launch the mainnet in the first quarter of 2027. Parameters and mechanisms remain subject to change while the paper is still a draft. An earlier report also said Hayes previewed a Technocore poetry contest involving multiple coordinating agents, with rules and prize details due the following day.
