South Korea will export 18 K-239 Chunmoo multiple rocket launchers to Croatia under a 410 million-euro contract worth 640 billion won, or about $470 million. Hanwha Aerospace signed the agreement with Croatia’s defense ministry in Zagreb on the 10th. The deal makes Croatia the fourth European country to buy the system, after Poland, Estonia and Norway, and marks the first large-scale defense cooperation between South Korea and Croatia. The Defense Acquisition Program Administration said the agreement could lead to industrial partnerships with Croatian companies, follow-on logistics support and broader strategic cooperation. Croatia currently operates Soviet-era rocket systems with ranges of about 20 kilometers, while the Chunmoo can fire rockets and missiles reaching up to 290 kilometers.
