Goldman Sachs reaffirmed its Buy rating on Coinbase Global Inc. (NASDAQ:COIN) and maintained a $219 price target. Analyst James Yaro cited a product pipeline extending beyond traditional spot crypto trading, with six growth drivers: U.S. perpetual futures (derivatives without an expiry date), prediction markets, tokenized equities, margin lending, Base and agentic finance. Coinbase's Everything Exchange has four major retail trading pillars: spot crypto, derivatives, traditional equities and prediction markets. Its derivatives business reached an all-time high market share in the second quarter, while prediction markets reached an approximately $100 million annualized revenue run rate; revenue and contracts have both doubled quarter-over-quarter since the business launched in the first quarter. Goldman also identified tokenized equities as a potential catalyst, noting Coinbase's international launch through a partnership with the Abu Dhabi Global Market. Since its 2021 public listing, Coinbase has reduced its dependence on Bitcoin spot-trading fees, which now represent just over 10% of revenue compared with more than 50% at the time of its initial public offering. At Goldman's Communacopia + Technology Conference, COO Emilie Choi said Coinbase aims to create a single platform where customers can "trade any asset, anytime" and estimated the broader financial system opportunity at a $50 trillion total addressable market. CFO Alesia Haas said Coinbase holds roughly 12% of the world's on-chain assets, providing a custody base for cross-selling financial products. Choi also said the company's next area of expansion is tokenization and that stablecoins (digital tokens designed to maintain a stable value) are entering a "golden age of value" for different customers.
