Bitcoin Bancorp, formerly known as Bullet Blockchain, acquired 2,547 cryptocurrency ATMs from bankrupt Bitcoin Depot for $620,750, or roughly $243 per machine. It also agreed to pay $110,500 for related retail-location contracts, intellectual property, trademarks, patents and the BitcoinDepot.com domain. Certain parts of the transaction have closed, while Bitcoin Bancorp expects to complete the remaining components next quarter, subject to customary requirements. The machines represent more than one-quarter of Bitcoin Depot's network of more than 9,200 devices. Bitcoin Depot filed for Chapter 11 protection in May after first-quarter revenue fell 49% year over year and its results shifted from a $12.2 million profit to a $9.5 million loss. The former Nasdaq-listed operator cited stricter compliance rules, transaction limits, bans in some jurisdictions, litigation and regulatory enforcement as pressures on its business.
