Zcash has been one of the strongest-performing major crypto assets in 2026, rising more than 120% year to date and 51.3% in seven days to trade near $1,244 on Sept. 10, after climbing from about $814 on Sept. 3 and later falling nearly 11% in 24 hours to about $1,093 on Sept. 11. The rally has been linked to demand for Zcash's optional shielded addresses, institutional accumulation, miner buying and Grayscale's ZCSH exchange-traded product, which began trading on NYSE Arca on Aug. 25 after the conversion of the Grayscale Zcash Trust. ZCSH held $532.9 million in assets, including 464,514.8551 ZEC, as of Sept. 8, while Grayscale reported more than $70 million in cumulative inflows. Zcash mining activity and hash rate have risen more than 2.5 times since the start of 2026 as higher prices improved miner economics. Although the network generates about $2 million in daily revenue versus roughly $35 million for Bitcoin, Grayscale estimates revenue per Zcash machine is about twice Bitcoin's level and revenue per megawatt-hour is about four times higher. These are revenue estimates, not net profit, and depend on electricity, equipment, cooling, maintenance, facility and pool costs. ZEC's move above $1,000 was also accelerated by short liquidations, including $13.51 million on Sept. 4 and $27.98 million on Sept. 6, while technical indicators remained bullish but showed the token stretched above its 20-day EMA and facing resistance around $1,250 to $1,280.
