Macabacus has published its report, GenAI for Financial Services: Velocity and Verification, finding that generative AI (software that creates content) is now widely used for financial models and client presentations, while verification processes lag behind. The report draws on a survey of Macabacus's 75,000 users and interviews with hundreds of current and prospective customers. Although 87% of respondents use AI daily or weekly for this work, only 23% report comprehensive controls covering approved tools, accuracy checks, brand compliance and approval procedures. Meanwhile, 62% believe an AI-generated error reached a client or internal decision-maker in the past 12 months, and 46% say an error probably entered a deliverable unnoticed. Confidence also differs by seniority: 43% of analysts and associates say AI has increased their confidence, compared with 29% of vice presidents, directors and managing directors. Macabacus argues that transaction teams need safeguards that preserve accuracy and client trust without slowing AI adoption.
