Oracle beat Wall Street’s first-quarter revenue expectations and raised its fiscal 2027 adjusted earnings forecast as enterprise demand for cloud computing services supporting artificial intelligence remained strong. Revenue rose 30% to $19.3 billion, exceeding the $19.14 billion analyst estimate compiled by LSEG, while the company raised its fiscal 2027 adjusted earnings-per-share forecast to $8.10 from $8.05. Oracle maintained its forecast for at least $90 billion in fiscal 2027 revenue, compared with analysts’ previous estimate of roughly $86.6 billion. Its revenue backlog increased to $664 billion from $638 billion in the prior quarter, above the $639.89 billion analyst estimate. Oracle brought 850 megawatts of data-center capacity online during the June-August quarter and expects second-quarter revenue growth of 30% to 34%, with adjusted earnings of $1.85 to $1.93 per share. The results offer support for Oracle’s large data-center investments after concerns about capital expenditure, free cash flow, a July S&P Global credit downgrade and reported delays affecting its Stargate project. Oracle expects fiscal 2027 capital expenditure of $90 billion to $95 billion and plans to raise approximately $40 billion through debt or equity financing.
