The sale of LG H&H's beverage subsidiary Haitai htb has entered its final bidding stage, with Mega MGC Coffee, operator of Mega Coffee, and private equity firm Godo Partners conducting due diligence as qualified bidders. Final bids could be submitted as early as the end of September, although the review has taken longer than expected as the candidates examine Haitai htb's profit structure, contractual relationships and potential post-acquisition restructuring. Haitai htb recorded 374.1 billion Korean won in revenue and a 10.1 billion won operating loss last year. Coca-Cola Beverage contributed 171.9 billion won, or 45.9% of revenue, but is excluded from the sale. Buyers are assessing whether transaction volumes can continue after Haitai htb separates from LG H&H, including contract terms, future volumes and which rights under LG H&H's Coca-Cola agreements can transfer following a change in the largest shareholder. The deal reportedly includes intellectual property, recipes, and domestic and international sales rights for major brands, giving Haitai htb a potential basis to operate independently. The seller is seeking about 300 billion won, while EBITDA fell 55% to 12.5 billion won last year from 27.8 billion won. Final pricing is expected to reflect both current profitability and the growth potential of Haitai htb's production infrastructure, brands, sales rights and future Coca-Cola-related revenue.
