Sigenergy showcases 20 MWh European storage project at 2026 event

  • Sigenergy showcased a Weissach im Tal solar-and-storage project at its Stuttgart event.
  • The project combines 11.6 MWp of PV, 20 MWh of batteries and an 8.8 MVA grid limit.
  • Construction took 20 days, while grid commissioning required two hours.

Sigenergy presented an 11.6 MWp photovoltaic installation paired with a 20 MWh battery energy storage system in Weissach im Tal, Baden-Württemberg, at Sigenergy Day Europe 2026 in Stuttgart. Nearly 400 investors, engineering, procurement and construction companies, and energy-industry experts attended the event. Developed with PV specialist Arausol GmbH and European distributor Memodo, the project uses 1,660 12 kWh battery modules, 80 100 kW hybrid inverters and two medium-voltage transformer stations. Its decentralized SigenStack design places storage beneath the PV modules, reducing heavy wiring, crane use, civil works and soil sealing. Construction took 20 days and grid commissioning two hours. Sigenergy said native DC coupling delivers an estimated 3.7% higher power-conversion efficiency than comparable AC-coupled systems and enables the plant to operate within an 8.8 MVA grid connection despite its 11.6 MWp solar capacity. The company also highlighted SigenAgent, its all-domain AI Energy Agent, which responds to weather, grid and market conditions, including negative electricity prices, to manage charging, dispatch and solar clipping. The project marks Sigenergy's formal expansion into utility-scale storage, building on its residential, commercial and industrial businesses.
