Perpetual decentralized exchanges now list more than 1,000 real-world asset (RWA) markets, with 747 tied to publicly traded stocks, according to DefiLlama data. Equity markets represent about 75% of RWA listings, carry $2.586 billion in open interest and generated $1.681 billion in 24-hour trading volume, or close to 47% of total RWA open interest across perpetual DEXs. The milestone expands on an earlier report citing CryptoRank data and shows that on-chain derivatives have moved beyond leveraged Bitcoin and Ethereum trading into tokenized equities and other traditional-market exposures. Hyperliquid, Ostium and Lighter are among the platforms driving the expansion, offering continuous trading, self-custodied collateral and settlement through decentralized infrastructure. The sector remains exposed to regulatory uncertainty, particularly over whether tokenized equity perpetuals constitute unregistered securities derivatives in the United States.
