The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) and financial technology infrastructure provider Vermeg have chosen Delta Capita’s MACH distributed ledger technology (DLT) to support an integrated digital asset securities depository (DASD). MACH is a private, permissioned DLT designed to connect with traditional financial networks including SWIFT (ISO15022/ISO20022) and emerging distributed ledger programming languages. Vermeg was appointed by the CBUAE in April 2026 to design and deliver a combined conventional and digital Central Securities Depository platform for government debt and Sukuk, alongside unified collateral management. The DASD is intended to enable T+0 settlement, stronger collateral mobilization and asset fractionalization, while supporting natively digital sovereign debt and Sukuk issuance and the tokenization of existing financial instruments. The initiative forms part of the CBUAE’s strategy to improve post-trade efficiency, strengthen UAE capital-market infrastructure and prepare markets for digital assets and financial innovation.
