Bitcoin briefly formed a daily golden cross after rising to $79,837, but the signal quickly reversed as the token retreated to approximately $77,438. The pullback followed U.S. core CPI rising 0.3% monthly, above the 0.2% market forecast, while markets sharply increased expectations for a 25-basis-point Federal Reserve rate increase at the Sept. 15-16 meeting. Rate futures put the probability at 87%, up from 72% a day earlier, as the Fed held its target range at 3.50%-3.75%. Bitcoin traded near $77,256 after briefly approaching $77,500, while Ether rose above $2,511. Markets now expect at least three rate increases through June 2027, compared with two previously, reinforcing a higher-for-longer outlook that can pressure risk assets. Bitcoin’s medium-term technical picture remained mixed: the 50-period EMA stayed above the 200-period EMA on the four-hour chart, the daily ADX stood at 45, and the four-hour RSI reading of 43.3 showed weaker short-term bullish momentum. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded about $462.7 million in weekly outflows, contrasting with $216 million of inflows into Ether ETFs.
