Bonk Guy responded on X to criticism from the STONK community over his purchase of EMBER, another Launchpad token (token issued through a crypto fundraising platform). Some community members viewed the purchase as an attempt to challenge STONK's position in the sector, a reaction he called exaggerated. He pointed to STONK's second-largest holder, who previously bought EMBER at a $2.8 million market capitalization and held it for most days without facing similar criticism. Bonk Guy said he was treated as a villain after buying EMBER at roughly six times that valuation, describing the response as a double standard. He reiterated that he remains bullish on STONK and had publicly praised it even when he held no position; the post had received more than 400,000 views. Support for STONK from Solana ecosystem core teams was one of the main reasons he shifted back to a bullish view after being broadly bearish on the ecosystem for several months. He said the pullback caused by the dispute could represent a buying opportunity for investors who believe in STONK's long-term vision. Bonk Guy added that he mainly trades low-cap projects because he considers their risk-reward profile more attractive, and rarely buys large-cap tokens even when he is optimistic about their future performance. He said his EMBER purchase had no PvP (player-versus-player trading competition) intent, and that STONK and EMBER can succeed simultaneously. In his view, the idea that only one project can win in a sector conflicts with the nature of the crypto industry. He also said the community's strong response demonstrated STONK's cohesion, while competition and multiple successful projects would benefit the industry.
