Nu Holdings shares fell 2.33% to $14.67 on Friday despite the company’s U.S. launch and continued support from Needham analyst Kyle Peterson. Nu began rolling out a U.S. banking suite and Nu Global on September 10, extending the Latin America-focused digital bank into the United States through a partner-bank arrangement with Lead Bank. The Nu Account pays 3.50% APY on dollar deposits, credited daily, and includes a debit card and fee-free transfers to Brazil, Mexico and Colombia. Nu also offers a no-annual-fee Mastercard credit card with unlimited 1.5% cashback. Nu Global uses Circle’s USDC and EURC stablecoins to offer yields of 3.50% APY and 2.20% APY, respectively, alongside a virtual Mastercard for international spending. The company is targeting people living borderless lives, a group it said the World Bank estimates at about 300 million. Nu received conditional approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in January 2026 after filing for a national bank charter in 2025, and continues to operate in the U.S. through Lead Bank while pursuing its own charter. Peterson maintained a Buy rating and $19 price target.
