Space Exploration Technologies Corp. Chief Financial Officer Bret Johnsen said Starship’s Flight 14 later this month will carry production Starlink V3 satellites and generate revenue for the first time, potentially making it the rocket’s first orbital mission. The comments mark a shift from demonstration flights toward regular production launches. Flight 13 deployed 20 functional V3 demonstration satellites on a suborbital trajectory in July. Johnsen also disclosed a compute hosting deal worth about $1.11 billion per month beginning Dec. 1 and reiterated confidence that SpaceX can reach $100 billion in annual recurring revenue by year-end. Polymarket traders give Flight 14 an 82% chance of launching by Sept. 30 and an 80% chance of a controlled ocean splashdown, but only a 7% chance of a tower catch. Analysts say Starship reusability is central to SpaceX’s investment case.
