A linked group of 19 Polymarket accounts earned about $22,000 from 42 bets on quarterly earnings at 18 companies audited by KPMG, winning 41 trades for a 98% success rate. The wagers included Wells Fargo, Home Depot, DoorDash and General Mills, with funds moving among the accounts in a pattern suggesting common control by one person or team. U.S. law enforcement is investigating a KPMG employee suspected of using Polymarket to bet on whether public companies would beat market expectations, but there is no confirmation that the employee is connected to the accounts. KPMG said it has zero tolerance for trading on confidential client information and has strengthened its monitoring.
