Roblox is expanding beyond its core app by allowing creators to distribute games as standalone applications across mobile, PC and consoles, with Roblox providing the underlying technology and services. By the end of the year, players will be able to launch games directly from Experience Details pages in Chrome without downloading an app, while additional browser support is planned. Offline play is scheduled for mid-2027, with early access coming soon and options for creators to combine connected and network-free modes in one game. Roblox is also broadening its AI creation tools: Build has produced roughly 9,000 games, 71% of them by creators who had not previously used Roblox Studio, while Scene Generator, desktop creation, a larger asset library and NPC playtesting are being added. New engine features will support 2D, puzzle and turn-based asynchronous games, alongside changes to discovery, social chat and in-game commerce. Roblox said creators have earned more than $5 billion since 2013, including $1.7 billion in the last 12 months, and introduced a Wallet with end-of-business-day real-money payments for eligible U.S. creators through Airwallex. A Roblox Card is expected next year. Founder and chief executive David Baszucki said players spent more than 29 billion hours on the platform in the last quarter across 180 countries.
